Farmer’s Market.

Every Thursday the farms and local businesses of Farm Fresh RI set up shop right on my street. I can literally open my front door and step into the vendor area. This past Thursday was the first time we went of the season. Because of the looming inclement weather there weren’t too many vendors this time around but wee still managed to get everything we needed for a delicious meal. Purchased: whole organic chicken (slaughtered 2 days prior, its doesn’t get a whole lot fresher than that for a consumer!), zucchini, francese roll, super duper ripe strawberries, and really pretty blue flowers for the table. We already had lots of garlic and tomatoes at home so this was all we needed for Dan to make dinner! And it was so good. So, so good.

I’m thinking up delicious veggie based meals for this week’s meal plan. So far: orzo salad with corn on the cob, tomato salad with basil and goat cheese and maybe some good bread, chickpea curry with rice, baked beans with cornbread and garlic kale. It’s going to be a good week.
